For my review/attempt to figure out what I'm actually watching this upcoming tv season, I'm borrowing an idea from TWoP which I am utterly certain isn't original to them. What'll I watch, what'll I DVR, what'll I skip. I anticipate this being heavy on "skip", and really light on the other two headings.

Starting with Monday

8 PM: Watch - absolutely nothing. Possibly Dancing With the Stars, but probably not.
DVR - see above; maybe I'll DVR DWTS so I can fast-forward through all the crap.
Skip - all of it: Terra Nova, Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother, The Sing-Off, Two Broke Girls. Maybe there's something on basic cable?
9 PM: Watch - nothing. Looking at this, it's a good thing my DVR tapes two shows, though.
DVR - the 2nd half of DWTS and House. The latter is looking so dreadful that I am not watching it until I've heard other peoples' opinions about it.
Skip - everything else. I'm not going to keep naming all of them.
10 PM: Watch - nothing. Even if there were something I'm interested in, I'm asleep at this point.
DVR - possibly something from basic cable. Hoarders if it's on at 10. If it's on at 9, I'm in trouble. Forget DWTS in that case.

Tuesday
8 PM: Watch - nothing
DVR - NCIS. See House, above, for my rationale
Skip - all of it
9 PM: Watch - please let there be something on basic cable worth looking at!
DVR - DWTS results, maybe, so I can fast-forward through all the crap. Or just wait until the next morning to read online who got booted.
Skip - all of it. Can't they please start putting good cable stuff on before 10 PM?
10 PM: Watch - nothing, unless I stay up for Top Shot on History Channel
DVR - nothing
Skip - everything, and that especially includes Sons of Anarchy, a show that I don't understand why anyone would even consider watching.

Wednesday
8 PM: Watch - maybe, just maybe, Survivor, though I hate the "Redemption Island" twist. I do love Coach, though.
DVR - nothing, not even The X Factor. I am over Simon Cowell and have been ever since his most recent appearance on Top Gear.
Skip - everything else.
9 PM: Watch - All I watch in this time slot has been Mythbusters and only Mythbusters for just about four years now, that's not going to change.
DVR - nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Skip - all of it, especially that one show I used to like.
10 PM: Watch - CBS really hates me. Because the only show of theirs I won't watch on Wednesday now is the one in that 9 PM time-slot. I've got to give Ted Danson a shot on CSI, even staying up to watch it.
DVR - maybe, just maybe, I'll DVR Revenge, but only for the Hamptons scenery.
Skip - lots and lots, probably eventually including both shows named above

Thursday
8 PM: Watch - nothing. Why did they have to move Survivor to Wednesdays?
DVR - nothing.
Skip - obviously, everything.
9 PM: Watch - possibly Person of Interest. Possibly.
DVR - if I'd ever catch up on it, I'd put Grey's Anatomy on this list. But I have too many seasons to watch before I can start to catch up on this one. And James Spader is enough to get me to consider DVR'ing The Office.
Skip - I have to single out Whitney because the commercials look beyond revolting for this. I can't understand why it was green-lit and I will be staying as far away as possible
10 PM: Watch - Project Runway while it's on - and this belongs in the 9 PM slot because it's running 9 - 10:30 PM.
DVR - nothing, not even Prime Suspect. I'm over cop shows.
Skip - all the rest, including The Mentalist, which I always feel like I should get interested in, but I'm not.

Friday
8 PM: Watch - Gotta admit, A Gifted Man intrigues me. I just want a doctor show that I can like.
DVR - blerg, not a thing
Skip - Chuck, Nikita, Kitchen Nightmares, and anything else TWoP forgot to mention
9 PM: Watch - Grimm, at least once. Just out of raging curiosity.
DVR - nothing, never could get into Fringe or Supernatural.
Skip - CSI:NY as well as the other two I just mentioned.
10 PM: Watch - nothing. Too bad there's nothing on when I could stay up late.
DVR - nothing.
Skip - everything.

Saturday
There is no television on Saturday nights, just repeats.

Sunday
Oh, this whole night is going to give all my electronics a workout and guarantee I get no sleep and arrive at work late every Monday. Who knew Sunday would be the best night of television?
8 PM: Watch - I've been a fan of The Amazing Race since it began. Gotta watch it although it never starts on time because of football.
DVR - Once Upon A Time, at least for a bit. It is either going to be great or it will suck. Betting on the latter, hoping for the former.
Skip - everything else.
9 PM: Watch - the overrun of The Amazing Race.
DVR - possibly Dexter.
Skip - everything else, especially The Good Wife, another show I've never comprehended the interest in. (And dear god, it's getting Cuddy this season - run away!!!!)
10 PM: Watch - the only show I have looked forward to in nearly four years. Homeland. Even though I can't stand Claire Danes. (Will she rise to Diana Venora levels of hatred or stay at a mild Ellen Muth level of dislike?)
DVR - Pan Am, at least once.
Skip - everything else, though I am nostalgically tempted to take a peek at CSI:Miami at least once.

Short version: I'll be watching my usual reality stuff, Amazing Race, Survivor, Project Runway, Top Shot and Hoarders, while they last. I'm DVR'ing House and NCIS because I'm not at all sure I want to keep being involved with those shows. I'll give CSI a chance because of Ted Danson, even though the Wednesday night combination of Survivor and CSI means I'll probably end up catching at least a couple of seconds of That Other Show I Used To Like before I can switch over to/back from Mythbusters. Will give new shows A Gifted Man, Grimm, Once Upon A Time, Pan Am and possibly Person of Interest a shot. And I will stick with Homeland through thick and thin because, well.... Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin .

[livejournal.com profile] sevs_girl72, what night works for the Dead Like Me rewatch, if we're still on for that? Wednesday and Sunday are my only bad nights.

Yes. A million times yes to this. Unless they somehow dredge up She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named like CM did I can't see myself not watching a show with those two. Other than that I think I've officially given up on everything except NCIS and a couple USA Network original shows but even those are slowly dying. Even my love for Tom Bergeron can't get me to watch DWTS since neither D'Onofrio, Rickman or Mandy are on it. I hope TV gets good again one day.

As for the DLM re-watch, Thursdays or Friday would be best for me. I just found the timeline I made for that show - I can't believe how detailed it is. I have to show it to you when I find a way to read my writing from back then :/ But yes, lets get on that asap! And now I really want some Keylime pie and waffles. :D

Why don't we stay with Thursday, same as we did for CH? Hopefully this one will go better than that one did! (I keep wondering if I can finally finish those eps since I'm not currently moony over Jeffrey. Probably not.)

D'Onofrio, Rickman and Mandy on DWTS... that might be a good definition of heaven!

(I hope this posts - my LJ has been weird all morning.)
